PDO lifting threads were created in South Korea, however, very quickly, they became one of the most frequently chosen tissue stimulators in the world. No wonder, this technology is not only very efficient, but also safe. Find out how to use PDO threads in order to enhance the comfort of life of your patients!
How do the tissue stimulators work?
Tissue stimulators, to which belong among others PDO threads, were elaborated bearing in mind a reconstruction of the skin structure. It is possible thanks to the stimulation of the skin cells and stimulation of the body to production of new collagen and elastin. The stimulation of tissues using PDO threads brings particularly natural effects. After already a few weeks from the treatment, the firmness, level of moisturisation and density of the skin are improved significantly.
What are PDO threads?
Polydioxanone, i.e. a durable synthetic fibre is used for the production of PDO threads. The threads can be composed of one or two twisted fibres. What is important, the threads are completely biodegradable. After 6-8 months from the application, the fibres dissolve in the tissues on their own.
During the application of the threads, the natural skin tension lines are used. Thanks to that, the stimulation of tissues brings an effect very similar to lifting.
PDO threads – intended use
The stimulation of the skin with PDO threads is possible on many areas of the body. The threads are used the most frequently in order to improve the skin of the face, elbows, abdomen or cleavage. Furthermore, PDO threads are excellent for:
- correction of forehead wrinkles,
- forehead lifting and V-lifting,
- reduction of bags under the eyes,
- elimination of puppet and chin folds,
- lifting of cheeks,
- making breasts firmer,
- reduction of stretch marks on buttocks and on abdomen.
Moreover, the tissue stimulation with PDO threads enables to reduce the force of mimic muscles. Thanks to that, it is possible to achieve an effect similar to treatments based on application of the botulinum toxin.
Stimulation with PDO threads – course of the treatment
A treatment with the use of PDO threads takes usually from 30 to 60 minutes. What is important, the treatment is painless and completely safe. Before proceeding to the treatment, the area that will be subjected to the stimulation is anaesthetised with a special cream. Then, the doctor marks points in which needles will be introduced. The next step is to introduce needles into the subcutaneous tissue and application of PDO threads.
Directly after the treatment, the skin can be red, in some cases small bruises can also appear. These undesired effects usually disappear after 2-4 days from the treatment.
First clear effects are visible already after 2-3 weeks from the treatment. Nevertheless, a full improvement of the skin condition is expected within 3 months. This results from the fact that, the body starts to produce new collagen more or less after such a period.
A natural lifting effect ensured by PDO threads results from their double action. A special braid of the threads contributes to a soft lifting and tension of the skin. Whereas, thanks to a stimulation of the body to the collagen synthesis, a given area of the skin is deeply moisturised and rejuvenated. The effects brought by the stimulation of tissues with PDO treads last even up to two years after treatment!
